A sheep farm with deep charm
Welcome to Stordal – a historic farm on the island of Tjörn, with roots reaching back more than 450 years.
As early as 1568, the site was recorded in written sources as “Anners i Stordal”, making it one of the oldest documented homesteads on Tjörn. The name refers to a past owner named Anders, following the custom of combining personal names with farm names.
During the 18th and 19th centuries, the farm typified self-sufficient West Coast agriculture. Cows, sheep, horses, and chickens were kept, and crops were grown in the natural plots surrounding the farmhouse. The nearby pastures and grazing lands are still in use today—just as they were then—with deep respect for the animals and the landscape.
Today, the farm is a living home, but also a place for reflection, storytelling, and connection to nature. Here, the past and present meet in harmony—with sheep grazing the fields and stories that live on in the very walls.
Live in the Heart of History
Surrounded by grazing sheep, winding stone walls, and centuries-old buildings still in daily use, you’ll experience life where history is not just remembered – it’s lived. The farmhouse, barns, and pastures have been active for generations and continue to shape the rhythm of life here today.
